I was made for this job

HoMedics SS-2000 Sound Spa Relaxation Sound Machine with 6 Nature Sounds, SilverSo it's been an hour and the crying has finally subsided. Between my 16 month old and my 3 1/2 year old, I thought I was gonna pull my hair out or just plain ole walk out the door and never return. Thank God that my 2 month old has slept through it all. Being a S.A.H.M. is ALOT OF WORK!!!!! So many people think otherwise but.... I dare someone who works out of the home to take the place of a S.A.H.M. You see, when you work out of the home as I did for many years, it's sort of a break from the home. But when you return, you come back to "reality". Now think about it.....a S.A.H.M. doesn't leave the home or its duties to go to another job....this is their job 24/7. Take a look at this.....this is a usual day for me:
We will start at bedtime the night before and usually my kids all go to sleep a little bit before 12mid. Then around 4am, my 2 month old wakes to eat so I make a bottle and feed him. Then I burp him and keep him sitting up for about 30-60minutes so he won't spit up too much cause he has been throwing up for some time. So I don't go back to sleep until 5-5:30am. (I have slept about 4 hours...remember this!) Now I finally go back to sleep and my eldest wakes up around 7am and wants cereal so I get up and fix him cereal by the time I do this, my 16month old is now awake and I take her and make her breakfast. My husband is home from work now and I make breakfast for him and while everyone is eating and my youngest is still sleeping, I shower and get ready for the day ahead. After everyone is done, I clean the kitchen and put everything away. I bathe both kids and get them ready for the day as well. Now my youngest is up and needs to eat again and my husband may be up and he may not be.....since he works overnight he does need to rest during the day. But I thank God for his help! So I sit and feed the youngest or my hubby does if he is up. I do a couple of loads of laundry and put them away cause in a house of 5, there is ALOT of laundry to do. I get all 3 bags ready making sure there are enough diapers, wipes, change of clothes, toys, books, meds if needed and snacks. I usually pack all 3 kids to go somewhere but if we stay home that day, both 16month and 3 1/2 year old are playing running back and forth in the house. We take some time to read, play with toys, watch a movie. Now it's about 10:30-11am and it's time for a snack. I fix a snack for the other two and finish the two loads of laundry. I take sometime to check my email and return any phone calls that I need to. I make sure that all appointments have been updated for all 3 kids and myself. I clean the house by vacccuming, dusting and the like and now it's time for lunch. I make lunch for everyone, wake my hubby up so he can eat as well and while I'm feeding my 2 month old, I'm feeding my 16 month old while my 3 1/2 year old eats. When everyone is done. I clean up and put things away and get the kids ready for a nap. (And they don't always go right to sleep either) And now while the other 2 are in their room down for the count, I tend to my youngest. I go check the mail, finish cleaning cause of course I can't get it done in one shot and when it's all said and done, the kids are awake from their naps (which is about 1-2 hours) Then I have to start preparing dinner when they wake up. If I was able to complete everything while they were asleep (if they even went to sleep that is) then I can chill for a little bit with them. I make dinner, brew coffee and send my hubby off to work in the evening with a belly full and caffeine to keep him awake so he can work and provide for our house. I feed the kids and get them ready for bed but they don't always fall asleep at a good hour. Now that's the core of my day. Now it changes when I have to take 1 or all 3 of my kids to appointments so you can just imagine how much more that involves. So now....think about it....is a S.A.H.M. easy????
