Is God there?

How many times have you heard someone say "Where is God?" or "If there was a God....." It's interesting to hear the millions of statements made by believers as well as non-believers. I read in Isaiah 59:1-2 and this is what it says: Behold, the LORD's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your inquities have seperated between you and God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

I don't know about you but that is a pretty deep scripture. There is nothing that God can't do for us but because of sin, we seperate ourselves from him. Now there are many times that we go through things and it's not always because of sin in our lives. It can be God working something into and out of us, it can be our own flesh and it can be the enemy. But let's be real, some of us are living in a way that we know is not pleasing to God and yet we still are wondering why God is not doing for us like He promised. Think about this thing. God tells us to not fornicate. Sex is for married folk, right? And yet we do it anyways. So God allows us to get pregnant, or contract an STD, or something else. Now yes, we are his kids doing these things and we know it ain't right but we wonder things like "Why did God let me get pregnant?" or "Why do I have this STD?" And then we wonder, "Is God listening to me?" Come on people, we put ourselves in so many tight and crazy situations and then blame God for not stopping us. Is it me or doesn't that sound "crazy"?????

If we want God to keep us, we need to walk in his ways. Am I saying you need to be perfect and not sin? NO! As long as your in this body, you will fall or course BUT you can present yourselves holy and as living sacrifices (Romans 12:1) We can live a life of holiness through the keeping power of the Holy Spirit. You just need to make your mind up. So now the choice is yours. What do you choose?

Behind Closed Doors

Okay, all of us have secrets. Some that our spouses don't even know of. We hold back from sharing our secrets for a million reasons. Think about it, in 2009 this world is all about "Coming Out of the Closet" but when you do, you know you get alot of questions as to "Why?" and "What?" and "When?" I know you catch my drift. When you are in the world, living according to the way the world does, you can come out of the closet with just about anything and find some type of acceptance. But this is very different when you choose to come out in the Body of Christ. Why? Now let's look at this thing for real. When the world "accepts" you, that means, keep doing what you are doing cause we all doing it anyways, true? When you "come out" in the church or to a brother or sister in Christ, there is usually condemnation that comes with it, true? Why is this? In John 3:12-21 we see the sacrifice that God made for us. How much he loved us as people that He sends his kid to die for us wretched folk. I don't know about you but I'm not going to sacrifice my kids for nobody YET God did it for us. You see, God saw that we needed help and he sent the only person and did the only thing that could help redeem us from hell itself. God knew then and He knows now that we are not perfect. It shouldn't be easier to come out to the world than to come out in the Body of Christ. When you look at the ministry of Jesus on earth, and the way he dealt with "sinners" it amazes me. He never once told them that they had to clean their act up and then come to him. (Look it up) He would always forgive them of their sins and then instruct them to sin no more. He didn't bash them saying things like "You know better" or "What is wrong with you?" or things that I'd rather not write and you know where I'm coming from. Yet this is what we do when someone comes to us and says " I have a problem with _______" It shouldn't matter what the problem or addiction is. We are to love them through it, pray them through it and show them in the Word of God what God says about that very thing. We don't correct them. The Word does that. We just direct them to the truth. I can't stand to hear that people don't want to go to a gathering or to church folk cause of what they may say about me. It's time that the Body of Christ grow up. We need to be smacked up a few times cause alot of us "righteous folk" are living foul lives before God and we got some nerve making others feel like they are less than. If we say we are living the way Christ has called us to live then lets do it for real. Whether in front of people or behind closed doors.

A Great Book Indeed

So I'm reading this great book by Leslie Vernick by the title of "How to act right, when your spouse acts wrong" Now don't get me wrong, the title sounds great but the actual content is not what you would think. Especially when you go by the title only. ;-) It has taught me a whole lot of who I am and who my husband is and why we do what we do. I'm not saying that this book is going to change my husband and I wouldn't even say that it will change my marriage for sure but I will tell you this, it is changing me. Now I'm sure you are probably thinking why I'm reading a book that will probably never change my marriage or my mate? I have to tell you that my reason is simply, to become more like Jesus Christ. Crazy? I don't think so. You see, there is only one way, in my opinion, to live my life and that is by faith in Jesus. I believe that if I can remain focused on what is really important in the here and now that everything will just fall into place in its own timing. I believe that as I keep my mind stayed on Him, He will keep me in perfect peace ( Isaiah 26:3) You see, when it all boils down to the nitty gritty, it doesn't matter what happens in my marriage, God will keep me in perfect peace "IF" I keep my mind on Him. I am also reminded of another scripture that says that He will give me peace that surpasses my understanding (Philipians 4:7) Which also means that no matter what, if I keep my mind on God, He will give me a peace in my spirit that even I can't explain. Isn't that an awesome way to live? In 2009, there are so many things that we can be worried and overwhelmed by and God promises to keep me in perfect peace just as long as I stay focused.

So back to this book that I'm reading. It breaks down the real meaning behind marriage. Marriage is not just a way to enjoy "Sin Free Sex" but it is an opportunity to become more Christ like. I mean think about it, Christ loved us in every state of our sinful nature. He loved us even when we were the most unloveable folk and yet, he NEVER gave up on us and NEVER will. God calls us to love like Christ loves us, unconditionally. MAN! THAT'S A BIGGIE! So you ask, what if my husband/wife cheats on me? Now you know you thought about that question before. I mean, there is one reason given in the word for divorce and that is for adultery (Matthew 19:9) but even then God is calling us to be more like Christ and if Christ forgives us for the most nastiest sins ever, we too can forgive. I know that sounds a bit much but it is possible.

I love this book. I love the way it has changed my perspective on marriage. I love the way I am growing more and leaning on God more in order to love my husband the way Christ loves me now, completely and unconditionally. You should take a look at this book, married or not or even engaged and give it a wing. You will be blessed by it.

Will Justice Be Served?

Luke 18:1-8

I can just imagine the heart of this woman as she kept coming to the judge for justice. She probably said at one point, "Im gonna give up" but she didn't. She just kept coming back. She decided in her heart that she was gonna be heard no matter what. This judge had no regard for her or God but she kept trippin about what she was in need of so, the judge ruled in her favor.

God used someone who didn't acknowledge Him to grant justice for one of his own. Isn't that awesome?!

As children of God in 2009, we find ourselves in a lot of tough situations and we too need to be avenged. We can be encouraged in knowing that we too will have our justice.

Think about it, children know how to get under your skin. They will call you over and over again until you act on what they want. No, they don't always get what they are asking for (ie: candy, t.v. etc.) but they will get what is needed. (ie: juice, food, etc).

God uses our kids to show us how we should come to Him in regards to things. We are not to give up just cause God doesn't act on our request the first time. But we are to keep in mind that He will provide ALL things for us. He loves us. Praise God!

A New Journey Awaits Me

So I have decided to start blogging. Now I know that many are doing this but I am new to it so in a sense, I don't know where to start or what to say right now. I guess what I can say to start off is that, I believe that Jesus Christ is the ONLY way to heaven. According to scriptures, I believe this by faith. Another thing I want to point out is that, I am also open to hear from EVERYONE. You see, other beliefs and comments make me want to strive to know God more and find more answers to lifes millions of questions. I know that I have many myself and I am still on my journey in finding what God says about them all. So welcome to my BLOG.....make yourself at home.......
